The power required to install electric charging points varies depending on whether you live in a single-family home or an apartment building. Depending on the number and type of point you or your building manager want to install, Sibelga will determine whether the power of your connection is sufficient or whether it needs to be upgraded.
If the power required is less than 56 kVA: a low-voltage connection is sufficient.
If the power required is between 56 and 250 kVA: a study is required to determine whether the power available is sufficient or whether the connection needs to be upgraded.
If the power required is greater than 250 kVA: a connection to the high-voltage network will be necessary.
Regardless of the power available, installing a load balancing system is recommended for buildings with more than three dwellings, three parking spaces or three separate garages.
