You want to produce your own energy but don't have the means or the space to install conventional photovoltaic solar panels? Plug & Play panels could be an interesting alternative.
How many panels can I install?
There is no legal limit to the number of Plug & Play panels that can be installed in Brussels. However, the total power of the panels must not exceed the capacity of the circuit to which they are connected. If other appliances are connected to the same circuit, this must also be taken into account.
This type of installation usually comprises one or two panels.
What are my obligations?
- Smart meter: You need a smart meter to install Plug & Play panels.
- Mandatory declaration: just like conventional panels, Plug & Play panels must be declared within 30 days of installation.
- Approved panels: When you buy panels (also abroad), you must ensure that they are included in the C10/26 list of panels approved by Synergrid. A compliance report is not required.
- Planning permit: Some local authorities may require you to obtain a planning permit, depending on the location of the panels. Please contact your local council for more information.
