New faces on Sibelga's Management Committee

Since 1 March, Sibelga has welcomed three new members onto its Management Committee: Daphné Benzennou, Geert Goethals and Thomas Raes. Their expertise, together with their collaboration with our teams, will help to strengthen our business strategy, meet the challenges of the energy sector and support the transition in Brussels.

Daphné Benzennou, Chief Strategy Officer 

A graduate in electricity and mechanics from the École polytechnique de Bruxelles, Daphne unites technical knowledge with a strategic vision. Throughout her 15 years at Sibelga, Daphne has held various strategic positions, from Business Process Analyst to Market Evolution Manager in recent years. Her in-depth knowledge of the energy market and her understanding of the challenges facing network managers enable her to champion a structured and ambitious vision for Sibelga and the sector as a whole.

I'm very motivated by the idea of leading this new department dedicated to strategy and coordinating the transformation. Our aim is to plan ahead and manage this development against the unstable backdrop of the energy transition, by adopting a clear vision and collaborative leadership, both internally and with our partners.

Daphné Benzennou, Chief Strategy Officer

Thomas Raes, Chief Client & Market Officer 

Thomas has also been with Sibelga for 15 years, progressing through a number of roles, particularly as Cogeneration Manager, Head of CAM (Customer Account Management) and recently, Head of Energy Transition Solutions. His experience in managing projects, coordinating teams and developing new initiatives, such as the one-stop-shop for the renovation of public buildings, RenoClick, makes him an essential asset in developing our services and supporting our customers. A mechanical engineer and graduate of the UMONS Faculty of Engineering, he extended his academic career with a Complementary Joint Master's in technological and industrial management at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.

Contributing to Brussels' energy transition alongside our partners is a challenge that motivates me. By putting our customers at the heart of all our actions, we're continuing to develop our innovative services, improve digitalisation and support public authorities in achieving their climate objectives.

Thomas Raes, Chief Client & Market Officer

Geert Goethals, Chief Information Officer 

Finally, Geert is heading up the DBS (Digital Business Solutions) teams. With over 30 years of experience in telecommunications (Belgacom, BICS, Proximus) and a recent spell as an advisor with PwC, he brings specialist experience in IT and digitalisation. With a degree in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology from Ghent University, he is convinced that interdisciplinary collaboration between the IT and business departments is essential to optimise customer and user experience.

Joining Sibelga at such a pivotal moment in the energy transition is an inspiring challenge. Digitalisation and the use of data are paving the way for innovative solutions, allowing us to not only optimise services for our customers, but also to shape a smarter and more connected energy future.
